All the Best Natural Tinted Sunscreen Brands with SPF!
Finding the best natural tinted sunscreen can be a challenge, especially if you’re looking for broad-spectrum SPF, natural ingredients, and a formula that works for different skin types. Many mineral sunscreens leave a white cast, while some don’t provide enough coverage for everyday wear. The good news? I’ve rounded up the top 8-10 best tinted sunscreens that not only protect against UV rays, UVB rays, and infrared radiation but also provide lightweight coverage, hydration, and a natural finish.
I don’t always enjoy a full face of makeup, but I like using a product that provides light coverage, skin protection, and clean ingredients! Keep reading if you’re looking for the perfect new product to add to your makeup bag.
What is a tinted moisturizer?
A tinted moisturizer is a super lightweight moisturizer with a slight hint of color. It provides light coverage for a no-makeup look and can help even out skin tone without the heaviness of traditional foundation. Tinted moisturizers often contain ingredients that hydrate the skin and help reduce the look of fine lines, and many offer SPF coverage for extra protection.
For days when I want just enough coverage to blur old scarring without weighing down my skin, tinted moisturizer is an excellent option that I feel good about. You’ll also notice that some of the brands featured in today’s post are BB and CC creams. This is due to the coverage provided and the color-correcting abilities of some of the products.
Here are a few of the key differences:
BB Cream: BB Cream, or Beauty Balm, is still lighter than foundation but offers better coverage than traditional tinted moisturizer. It usually contains SPF and active ingredients that soothe the skin. It’s designed to be an all-in-one product that provides coverage, hydrates the skin, and helps address any concerns like redness or scarring.
CC Cream: CC Cream, or color-correcting cream, does exactly that—it helps correct redness or other pigmentation. It tends to offer better coverage than tinted moisturizer or BB cream while also providing skin care benefits like SPF and moisture.
The importance of choosing low-tox beauty products
Much of what I share focuses on low or non-toxic alternatives to mainstream products. I don’t do this to create fear or stress for others but instead to teach you how to find safer products for your home. While I think it’s important to be aware of ingredients and find products we can trust, I don’t agree that we should live in fear of potential harm. Our bodies are incredible at detoxing and removing the junk it doesn’t need. The issue comes when our bodies are so overwhelmed that they no longer know how to flush out the bad.
The toxic burden our bodies face in our environment causes unnecessary stress, making it harder for our bodies to do their job.
So what can we do to help our bodies? A lot, actually! Reducing our toxic load, finding safer alternatives, and avoiding chemicals like these:
Parabens: used as preservatives in products like makeup, haircare products, and even some foods. These chemicals are endocrine disruptors and are linked to health concerns like infertility and cancer.
PFAs: substances used to make things waterproof. They are found in things like dental floss, shampoo, fast food containers, makeup, and more. These toxic chemicals are also called forever chemicals because they last forever, and our body has a difficult time flushing them from our systems.
Synthetic Fragrances: Many products like perfumes, cleaning supplies, personal care products, and cosmetics contain synthetic fragrances. While they may smell nice, synthetic fragrances are endocrine disruptors and have very few regulations placed on them.
Phthalates: Found in things like nail polish, cosmetics, building materials, and shampoo, phthalates are harsh chemicals that are everywhere. They can cause asthma and allergies, increased risk of cancer, and behavioral issues in children.
Why choose a natural tinted sunscreen?
Traditional chemical sunscreens contain harmful ingredients that cause skin irritation, disrupt hormone levels, and increased cancer risk. Natural options use ingredients like non-nano zinc oxide and titanium dioxide to protect from UV rays without questionable ingredients. Additionally, the use of iron oxide in tinted formulas helps protect against blue light, which contributes to dark spots and uneven skin tone.

Criteria I follow when choosing personal care products for my routine
Before I purchase a new product I intend to use for myself or in my home, it has to pass the test. There are 3 major steps I take before trying a new product.
First, it cannot have any of the chemicals I previously mentioned. The active ingredients should be as clean as possible because I’m not risking my hormonal health for better coverage.
Second, I like to check the product on EWG’s SkinDeep Database. While it’s important to do your own research, I have found EWG’s ratings to be pretty accurate. Now, any company can be bought out, so take their information with a grain of salt, but they haven’t let me down so far!
Third, the price has to be on point. I am comfortable spending a little more for a product that’s safe, clean, and does what it says it will do, but if it lets me down, it’s gotta go! I don’t have the finances to be wasting on products that underdeliver.

The Best Natural Tinted Sunscreens
Babo Botanicals Daily Sheer Tinted Sunscreen SPF 30
I really like Babo Botanicals products overall, and their tinted sunscreen is great. With certified organic ingredients and a sheer tint, it’s great for everyday use. I wish the coverage was a little bit better for days when I feel like I need a little extra help, but it’s a lightweight formula that’s perfect for those with sensitive skin! Plus, its non-greasy formula feels great.

Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40
If you’ve read some of my other review posts, you know I love Ilia products! They are clean, affordable, and last a long time! While the super serum is no exception, the dewy finish makes me feel like I always look greasy. I love that it has hyaluronic acid and vitamin C, but as someone who has oily skin, the dewy look isn’t for me. It’s still an excellent product, though, for those who enjoy that finish. Available in 30 shades.
Price: $48
W3LL People Bio Tint Multi-Action Moisturizer SPF 30
With 14 shades to choose from, W3ll People is a great option! It is best for those with mature skin, as it contains tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E) and Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba oil). It offers light to medium buildable coverage with a satin finish. I like to use a setting powder over the moisturizer to help it last longer!
Price: $30
Suntegrity 5-in-1 Tinted Sunscreen SPF 30
This 5-in-1 product is a BB and CC cream that provides great coverage. It’s perfect for those who want to replace their foundation, but I found it a little heavy for my oily skin. If this isn’t a concern for you, though, it’s a great option!
Price: $48
Saie Slip Tint Dewy Tinted Moisturizer SPF 35
This is an excellent product for everyday wear if a dewy finish doesn’t bother you! It contains capric triglyceride for hydration and pairs well with a finishing powder. It does leave a slight white residue if you don’t blend it into your skin well. Available in 14 shades.
Price: $36
Tower 28 SunnyDays SPF 30 Tinted Sunscreen
Tower 28 Tinted Sunscreen is excellent for sensitive and acne-prone skin, and the light-medium buildable coverage is great. The only issue I found is that without setting powder, it does not last all day. The price is decent for how much product you get, and it’s available in 17 shades.
Price: $32
